Fethiye

     The most beautiful coves, where the Mediterranean and Aegean merge, from in Fethiye. The ones who like swimming can prefer Çalış Beach, 4 km away from the city. Chevalier Island (Şövalye Adası), located across the harbor, is also one of the favorite spots. Flowers decorate the region in spring. Fethiye is one of the blue voyage gulets.

Ölüdeniz

Fethiye strikes people after a way, which lies down in the pine trees. You meet peerless Ölüdeniz after you walk Belcekız cove and the beach extends in it. Ölüdeniz; a charming and quiet spot. There is no moss beneath the. The light, refracted by the water and the sand beneath the sea gives the turquoise color to Ölüdeniz. Belcekız, the name of the cove, origins from a legend: In the ancient ages the ships passing by used to cast anchor away from the coast and go ashore by boats to get fresh water. One day when the young and handsome son of the captain came ashore to get fresh water, he saw beautiful Belcekız. When they saw each other, they feel in love. But the young man had to go back to the ship for taking the water. Belcekız looked at the sea all the time and waited for seeing him. The young man kept visiting here and seeing Belcekız. One they, a storm broke out. The young man told his father that there was a sheltered cove. But his father thought his son takes the risk to destroy the ship for seeing his lover. The fight grew between the son and the father, as did the storm. While the ship was about to crash the rocks the father hit his son with an oar, threw him to the sea and began controlIing the ship. And suddenly he understood the situation. They were about to come in a cove where the sea is flat and quiet. The son died there and Belcekız waiting for her lover above the rocks jumped down to her death. Since then, the place she died is called Belcekiz and that of the young man is Olüdeniz (meaning the Dead Sea).

The Valley of Butterflies (Kelebekler Vadisi)
 
    The Valley of Butterflies (Kelebekler Vadisi) is one of the most attractive places of Fethiye and environs. You can get there by rental boats. It is located at the valley covered by rocks and pine trees and all kinds of construction are forbidden in it. If you want to see the butterflies that give their name to the valley, you have to venture a difficult climb. At the end of this climb you will be able to see thousands of butterflies covering aIl of the rocks, trees, leaves and everywhere. For those interested in, there is also a nudist beach, however there is no accommodation possibility. The people who want to spend the night there mostly prefer to sleep on the beach in their sleeping bags. Climbing up to the top of the valley is not easy. Those who are not dealing with nature sports have to be careful.

Saklikent
     Access to Saklikent is through a turn on Fethiye-Antalya road. The trip to Saklikent, meaning the hidden city, is through a deep valley, by passing from the wooden quays towards the inner parts of Esen Çayi feeling cold even in the hottest day. To have a cool day in the hot of Mediterranean summer, walking into the canyon is enough.

The ÇaIış Beach
     You can get to this entertainment center, located at the 4 km. north of Fethiye, by shuttles (dolmuş), boat and buses departing from Fethiye. At the Çalış Beach that is 5 km long, it is possible to make all kind of water sports.
